Salute to Firefighters' Dedication

Because they must deal with flames, a firefighter’s life is always in danger. To prepare for the worst-case scenario, they carry heavy luggage on their backs. Every year, despite firefighting precautions, a large number of firefighters are killed.

Firefighter Day was first observed in 1999, following the deaths of five firefighters in a forest due to a sudden change in wind direction. Every year on May 4th, the world observes World Firefighter’s Day to honour firefighters' dangerous work.

Their work does not end with cooling down burning buildings; they also deal with wildfires, where the fire’s intensity is much higher and lives are at stake.

No one can imagine climbing a tree to save a fire-frightened animal who is unable to descend on his own. Carry a human on your shoulder who has been injured and is unconscious. Every day, firefighters put their lives in danger to save the lives of people and animals trapped in a raging fire.

Let us remember the firefighters who work in this field, as well as those who have died in the line of duty. The public’s support will serve as an inspiration to all firefighters worldwide.
